Arya Hospital

Arya Hospital

Currently, Arya Hospital, with 100 active beds, 144 specialized physicians, and 215 staff members, not only provides medical services to patients but also takes responsibility for the education of students in medical, midwifery, nursing, anesthesia, and operating room fields at the Islamic Azad University. In the early years of the 1930s, when the Mashhad Medical School delivered its first graduates to the medical community, specialized staff and professors were naturally added. Alongside this, the private healthcare sector also grew as the need for treatment increased. The founders of Arya Hospital are Dr. Rahbernia, Dr. Mehdi, Hamid and Masoud Yaghmaei, Dr. Moein Afshar, Dr. Ghorbanban, Dr. Faghihi, and Dr. Afshin.

The hospital's departments include women's surgery, men's surgery, maternity, and gradually, smaller hospitals were established in rental buildings to meet the treatment needs. However, with the increase in population and the expansion of the medical community, the necessity of creating more equipped centers was felt. Arya Hospital was inaugurated in 1348 (1969) through the integration of Yaghmaei and Shafa Hospitals. Its founders were the same individuals mentioned earlier.

The hospital had departments for women's surgery, men's surgery, maternity, and an operating room. The main goal was to establish an educational and medical unit, so necessary facilities such as a suitable conference hall and library were considered. In 1995, due to special circumstances and the departure of some specialists, the hospital's activities were reduced. Eventually, Arya Hospital was handed over to Islamic Azad University, Mashhad branch, in 1995, and fortunately, the founders' primary goal of becoming an educational section was realized. Following that, CCU (Coronary Care Unit) and cardiology, internal medicine, and emergency departments were added to the hospital complex. Currently, with the efforts of Islamic Azad University, Mashhad branch, Arya Hospital is actively operating in a space of over 6000 square meters with 100 active beds, 160 specialized physicians, and 84 faculty members, equipped with specialized facilities.
